After years of ruts, shifting gravel, washouts in the summer and difficulty plowing in the winter our driveway gets an upgrade!
A big shout-out to longtime members Bob Mainer and Roger Backman. Bob initiated the project back in 2014. He thoroughly researched a number of options for the driveway and parking area (compacted crushed stones, permeable pavers, stabilized gravel, porous asphalt, conventional asphalt). Stabilized gravel was tried — but this didn’t do well with winter plowing. Roger Backman remains involved — making sure that our contractor, Manning Tree and Landscape, is mindful of our outdoor infrastructure.
